Geometric Abstraction

Beginning with Malevich’s early experiments, Geometric Abstraction, was opposed to the individual expression of the artist, instead seeking the representation of a universal harmony and equilibrium.  Predominant groups included: De Stijl, Cercle et Carré, Art Concrete, Abstraction-Création, and after WWII, Espace.
