Hélène Guinepied (1883-1937) lived and worked in Paris and Saint-Moré (Yonne) during the early twentieth century. Forgotten for nearly 80 years, it is thanks to the association Hélène Guinepied that this first retrospective presents an important selection of her paintings and drawings as well as photographs, objects and original documents. The Musée de Sens presents the opportunity to discover the immense talent of this artist, contemporary of Augusta Hure and inspirer of Gaston Chaissac, at the crossroads of Japonisme and the decorative arts.
